Castle of San Esteban de Litera Monument · San Esteban de Litera, La Litera, Huesca The castle of San Esteban de Litera, built between the 11th and 12th centuries and dedicated to the protomartyr Saint Stephen, gives its name to the town that grew up around it. Today it survives in ruins; only a keep still stands, next to the neoclassical parish church also dedicated to Saint Stephen, built outside the castle precinct, in the centre of the town, and consecrated in 1450.
