Albelda's winter festival is held in a place that had been the lordship of the counts of Urgel in the 13th and 14th centuries and of the Peralta family afterwards, until Felipe IV raised it to town status in 1629; it preserves a Gothic boundary cross declared a Bien de Interés Cultural.
