Mallos de Riglos Nature · Las Peñas de Riglos, Hoya de Huesca, Huesca The Mallos de Riglos are a set of vertical conglomerate walls located in Riglos, in the municipality of Las Peñas de Riglos, about 45 kilometres northwest of Huesca. They reach a maximum height of 275 metres, on the north spur of the Pisón mallo, with large vertical and even overhanging walls, much prized for climbing. They were formed from Miocene conglomerates deposited in ancient alluvial fans of the Ebro depression, raised and fractured by the Pyrenean folding and sculpted by fluvial erosion, which opened up their ravines and chimneys. Each mallo has its own name, taken from houses in Riglos or from its shape or colour. In November 2016, together with those of Agüero and Peña Rueba, they were declared a natural monument by the Government of Aragon.
