Wines of the Ribera del Gállego-Cinco Villas Food and drink · Gurrea de Gállego, Hoya de Huesca, Huesca Image of Gurrea de Gállego, not of the place itself. The Ribera del Gállego-Cinco Villas is a protected geographical indication, recognised in 2006, covering the country wines of the wine-growing areas of the Gállego riverside and the Cinco Villas, with vineyards spread across twenty-five municipalities of the provinces of Huesca and Zaragoza, including Gurrea de Gállego, in the Huesca district of the Hoya de Huesca. It was regulated in 2003 and allows white, rosé and red wines with different minimum alcohol content. The whites use the macabeo and garnacha blanca varieties, and the reds moristel, mazuela, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, tempranillo, garnacha tinta and syrah.
