The infante Pedro handed the castle of Zaidín to Pedro Ramón de Eril in 1092. In 1333 the patriarch of Alexandria bequeathed the place to the charterhouse of Scala Dei and in 1386 Pedro IV ceded it to Guillén de Moncada, in a succession of seigneurial and monastic hands.
