Alcanadre River at its mouth Nature · Ontiñena, Bajo Cinca, Huesca The Alcanadre rises in the Sierra de Galardón and runs through the north of the province of Huesca until it flows into the Cinca near Ballobar, after a course of about 42 km. In its upper stretch it crosses the Sierra y los Cañones de Guara natural park, forming deep ravines and gorges in Eocene limestone much frequented by canyoners; in its final stretch it opens into a channel up to a kilometre wide between the arid hills of Los Monegros. It receives the Used, Guatizalema and Flumen rivers on its right bank, and the Mascún and Isuala on its left. Ontiñena, only 5 km from the riverbed, lies within the area of influence of this final stretch, together with Sena, Villanueva de Sigena, Chalamera and Ballobar.
