Júzcar, el pueblo pitufo

On 16 June 2011 Júzcar hosted the world premiere of Sony Pictures' film 'The Smurfs', for which an advertising agency painted every house in the village blue. Following a local referendum in December of that year, residents decided to keep the blue colour for its tourism benefits, and it remains so today.
