Mountain range of Ascoy

The Sierra de Ascoy rises beside the Cieza hamlet of the same name, three kilometres north of Cieza, in an area that became an irrigated farming centre in the late 1960s thanks to the sinking of water wells. On its slopes, the Region of Murcia's first wind farm was installed in December 1998, made up of nine wind turbines with a combined output of 660 kW.
