The feast of San Antón, in honour of San Antonio Abad, is held on 17 January and is one of the most typical and distinctive in Cieza (Vega Alta del Segura, Murcia): bonfires that bring residents together are lit in every neighbourhood. The bonfire in the plaza Nueva, also called plaza de los Carros, stands out in particular, drawing the largest crowds and hosting the traditional Quema de la Vieja that has been held there for years, carried out by several residents and accompanied by fireworks.
