Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Bullas Monument · Bullas, Noroeste, Murcia The parish church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, in Bullas (Region of Murcia), is the village's most representative monument. It replaced the hermitage of San Antón as the main place of worship shortly before Bullas became independent from Cehegín; work began in the late 17th century and finished in 1723, becoming an autonomous parish in 1804. In the late 18th century it was extended with two side aisles, the sacristy and the tower, completed in 1803; in 1905 the neo-Gothic Sagrario chapel was finished. Baroque in style and with a Latin-cross floor plan, it is laid out in three naves separated by semicircular arches, with the transept covered by a dome on pendentives. It was declared Monumento de Interés Cultural in 1981 (a regional-level heritage protection designation) and Monumento Nacional in 1982 (an older national-level heritage protection designation, now incorporated into that of Bien de Interés Cultural).
