Former Watchtower of El Pinatar

After the Reconquest, Felipe II ordered the building in 1602 of an armed and garrisoned watchtower to protect the coast from Barbary pirate attacks, which remained in service until the 18th century; now gone, its image lives on in the municipal coat of arms.
