La Mar de Músicas

Music festival that Cartagena holds every July since 1995, organised by the City Council through its Department of Culture together with various sponsors, and devoted above all to world music; since 1998 each edition has focused on the artists of a particular country. The concerts are spread across indoor and open-air venues throughout the city, such as the cathedral, the Concepción Castle, the El Batel Auditorium, the courtyard of the Seamen's Training Barracks or the Town Hall Square. In 2017 it received the award for Best Small-Format Festival in Spain at the Fest Awards, and in 2019 it won the Ondas Award for Best Festival in Spain.
