Beach of la Bahía (Mazarrón) Nature · Mazarrón, Bajo Guadalentín, Murcia Urban beach of Puerto de Mazarrón (Región de Murcia), located in the south-west of the municipality, 190 metres long and about 21 metres wide. It has fine, golden sand, no stones, and its waters are safe because the area has no strong sea currents, although at one end there is a restricted bathing zone where whirlpools can form. It holds the Blue Flag (an international eco-label for beaches) and is one of the busiest beaches in the municipality. Along its whole length stand seafront houses built by fishermen about 50 years ago, which give it the atmosphere of a fishing village. The bay also has two viewpoints, the Cabezo del Gavilán and the Cabezo de la Cebada, with views over the Mediterranean and the town centre.
