Hermitage of San Roque de Yecla Monument · Yecla, Altiplano, Murcia Image of Yecla, not of the place itself. Yecla's oldest church, built in the mid-14th century in thanksgiving to the saint after a plague epidemic. It preserves a double-pitched Mudéjar coffered ceiling from the early 16th century. It was declared a Monumento Histórico-Artístico (Spain's heritage designation in force between 1931 and 1985) of local interest by order of 23rd December 1981 (BOE).
