Tower of el Rico

Defensive tower built in 1573 by Antonio Rico to protect shepherds and farmers on the border between the former kingdoms of Castile and Aragon. It gives its name to the Jumilla pedanía where it stands and was declared a Monumento Histórico-Artístico (Spain's heritage designation in force between 1931 and 1985) in 1982.
