The patron saint festivities of Jumilla (Altiplano, Murcia) are held in the week of August that coincides with the feast of the Virgin of the Assumption, on 15 August, patron saint of the town, and last around ten days. They include the Grape Harvest Festival, which begins on the Friday before the feast of the Virgin and ends on the following Sunday, with more than thirty events organised by more than thirty-five peñas (local social clubs), as well as parades of Moors and Christians, concerts, sports competitions and other recreational and cultural activities.
