Reservoir of Salime Nature · Grandas de Salime, Eo-Navia, Asturias The Salime reservoir is a hydraulic structure located in western Asturias, on the course of the Navia river, at the confluence of the concejos of Pesoz, Allande and Grandas de Salime. Inaugurated in 1954, it is the third reservoir built on the Navia river, after those of Arbón and Doiras. Its gravity dam reaches 128 metres in height, and the impounded waters cover 685 hectares split between Asturias and the Lugo municipality of Negueira de Muñiz; the tail of the reservoir extends some thirty-six kilometres upstream. The construction flooded entire hamlets of western Asturias. Its use is chiefly hydroelectric, although recreational and leisure activities are also organised in the surrounding area.
