Arealonga beach, between the parishes of Santiago de Reinante and San Miguel de Reinante, in the Lugo municipality of Barreiros, is the most extensive of the municipality's beaches: an open stretch of eight kilometers of Cantabrian coast and fine sand. It is one of the busiest beaches in the Mariña de Lugo, and it is traditional to hold a sand sculpture contest there every July 25, the feast day of Saint James.
