Ansarón Island

An island in the province of Lugo within the municipality of Xove, the best known along its coastline, with an altitude of 83 metres and an area of about ten hectares, placing it among the largest in the Mariña lucense. It has a rugged relief, with cliffs where goose barnacles are gathered and areas where seabirds nest. Its popular name, Sarón, became fixed even in the town's secondary school, which is named IES Illa de Sarón.
