Mountain range of a Faladoira Nature · Mañón, Ortegal, A Coruña A Galician mountain range belonging to the Galician massif, shared by Mañón with Ortigueira and closing off to the north in the As Pontes depression. It is made up of lousa negra together with gneiss, Ollo de Sapo, crystalline schist and sandstone, with ridges of granite and quartzite; it preserves some oak groves, though eucalyptus plantations predominate today. Its highest point is monte Caxado, at 756 metres, the second highest in the province of A Coruña. Along its slopes are scattered mámoas that still retain part of their burial chamber, as well as menhirs, mills and chapels. Photo: Onioram (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Mañón
