Ría do Barqueiro Nature · Mañón, Ortegal, A Coruña The Ría do Barqueiro is a Galician estuary formed at the mouth of the Sor river into the Cantabrian Sea, within the Rías Altas, shared between the municipality of O Vicedo, in the Mariña of Lugo, and that of Mañón, in the Ortegal comarca; it borders the Bares peninsula to the west and Coelleira island to the east. Along its shores alternate sheltered harbours, beaches — including those of Bares, Vilela, Arealonga, Castro, Fomento, Caolín, Vidrieiro and Xilloi — and historic bridges spanning the river's course. It gives its name to the locality of O Barqueiro, a fishing port of the municipality of Mañón located on its bank. Photo: Ramon Piñeiro (CC BY-SA 2.0) What to see and do in Mañón
