The Arzúa Cheese Festival Activity · Arzúa, Arzúa, A Coruña The Festa do Queixo de Arzúa has been held since 1975 on the first weekend of March, at the Terra do Queixo site, and is declared a festival of tourist interest of Galicia. It brings together a fair, a market and concerts around the queixo de Arzúa-Ulloa, a cow's-milk cheese protected by the designation of origin of the same name, whose production area covers 24 councils along the banks of the Ulla, from Arzúa to the Lugo Ulloa. With an elastic, pale yellow rind, a lenticular shape and a soft, eyeless paste, it has a mild, slightly acidic, aromatic flavour, and it is recommended to eat it at room temperature between 15 and 40 days after production.
