The Montehermoso cap, adorned with colored wool and, on young women, a small mirror at the front, is one of the most recognizable pieces of traditional Extremaduran dress; it is worn with the embroidered maroon 'mantilla'. It is still worn at romerías and patron saint festivals, and examples are preserved in the Museo de Cáceres.
