362 inhabitants (INE 2025), at an altitude of between 380 and 430 m depending on the area of the municipality (the Esparragosa hill is the highest point). In 1594 it was part of the Tierra de Trujillo; since 1834 it has been part of the Logrosán judicial district. Its main watercourses are the Búrdalo and Alcollarín rivers.
