96 inhabitants (INE 2025), 360 m altitude, 18.81 km². It arose in the early 15th century, probably after the conflicts between the lordships of Almaraz and Monroy ended. It was called simply "Valdecañas" until a 1916 decree added "de Tajo" to distinguish it from other municipalities of the same name.
