The municipal term is largely bathed by the La Serena reservoir, one of the largest in Europe, creating a contrast between the rugged dryness of the surroundings and the reservoir's great body of water. Near the village, a league to the west, the Guadalemar and Sujar rivers meet, between the Sierra del Cuchillo and Sierra de la Navaja.
