A protected wetland in the municipality of Xeresa, one of the natural areas of greatest ecological value in the comarca of La Safor. It extends across the coastal plain, where the municipality's altitude drops to 4 metres, and within it lies the Marjal de Borrones, an area of special ecological value. It plays a vital role in regulating surface and groundwater and helps conserve the comarca's biodiversity. It is considered one of the best-preserved freshwater coastal wetlands in the Comunitat Valenciana.
