Miramar Village · Miramar, La Safor, Valencia Miramar is a coastal municipality of the Safor comarca, in the province of Valencia, on the Mediterranean shore, with an urban beach of a little over a kilometre of sand that flies the blue flag. Of Arab origin, it was repopulated in 1610-1611, after the expulsion of the Moriscos, mainly with people brought from Liguria, in the republic of Genoa, and grew at the time from about 20 houses to the 105 it had in 1794. Today it has 3,143 inhabitants and its economy combines orange growing with tourism. The most representative building of its historic centre is the parish church of Saint Andrew the Apostle, an 18th-century baroque temple built over a 1535 origin.
