Josep Bernat i Baldoví, father of the llibret de falla

Historical milestone · Sueca, La Ribera Baixa, Valencia

Image of Sueca, not of the place itself.

Writer and politician born here in 1809, he cultivated the sainete and satirical poetry in Valencian and signed the first explanatory booklets of the fallas. His work fixed a good part of the mocking tone that the festival still keeps.
