Hermitage of la Muntanyeta dels Sants Monument · Sueca, La Ribera Baixa, Valencia Image of Sueca, not of the place itself. The Muntanyeta dels Sants, or cabeçol dels Sants, is a small limestone promontory 27 metres high, located north of Sueca, within the Albufera de Valencia Natural Park. At its summit stands the sanctuary of the Sants de la Pedra, of medieval origin and rebuilt over the centuries, dedicated to Saints Abdon and Sennen, patrons of the municipality since 1902, whose construction was funded through alms by the farmers of Sueca. The church, in late popular Gothic style, has an adjoining guesthouse. The small hill, surrounded by rice fields, was worked as a quarry in the post-war period and has been protected since 2006 as a flora micro-reserve (a small protected area for plant conservation). Together with the Montaña de las Raboses de Cullera, it is one of only two mountainous outcrops in the whole natural park.
