Walled enclosure of Berfull Monument · Rafelguaraf, La Ribera Alta, Valencia An old fortified morisco village in the municipal district of Rafelguaraf, an Asset of Cultural Interest since 2002. Its first documentary reference dates from 1348, when Peter the Ceremonious granted it to Jaime Esplugues, lord of Puebla Larga; it later belonged to Énova until 1574 and, after the expulsion of the moriscos, was resettled, becoming an independent municipality until it was joined to Rafelguaraf in 1846. The walls, from the 16th-17th centuries, surround the village and enclose the courtyards of the houses, around a central street; access is through an ashlar arch, the Arc de Berfull, crowned with brick battlements. A hermitage and the old manor house, with a noble coat of arms above the door, are preserved. Residents gradually abandoned it in the 1970s, and in 2010 its owners handed it over to the municipality. ss.
