Fuenterrobles Village · Fuenterrobles, La Plana de Utiel-Requena, Valencia Fuenterrobles is a municipality in the comarca of La Plana de Utiel-Requena, in the province of Valencia, at 879 metres above sea level and 97 km from the capital. Settled since 1402 around the Fuente del Concejo, it was after the Reconquest a hamlet dependent on Requena until, thanks to the Constitution of 1812, it obtained the title of town on 15 August 1836. It preserves the church of Santiago Apóstol, from 1757, and the optical telegraph tower of 1845, which was part of the communications network between Madrid and Valencia and was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) in 2011; the so-called Ruta del Agua runs past old mills and the Iberian settlement of la Peladilla. In the town centre, the Colección Museográfica Vida Rural brings together more than a thousand ethnographic pieces donated by local residents.
