La Font de la Figuera Village · Font de la Figuera (la), La Costera, Valencia La Font de la Figuera is a municipality of La Costera, in the province of Valencia, situated on the border with that of Albacete, with 2022 inhabitants. It stands at 536 metres at the head of the valley of Montesa, in a district of mountainous relief to the north and west, where the sierras of Enguera and la Silla stand out, and flatter in its central part, with fertile land; the Almansa corridor passes through it. The place name, dating from after the Christian conquest, is documented from the 14th century and refers to a spring that still serves as a watering trough for livestock in the lower part of the village. The oldest remains of human occupation, in the area of la Carrasca, date back to the Upper Palaeolithic, with later materials from the Eneolithic and the Iberian period.
