The old town of Culla preserves its medieval layout of narrow streets and stone houses. Among its features stand out the Torre de Frare Pere and the entrance gate to the castle's barbican, which bears the coats of arms of the Order of Montesa. The castle, which crowns the site, suffered severe damage during the Carlist Wars of the 19th century.
