Museum of Cerámica de L'Alcora Monument · L'Alcora, L'Alcalatén, Castellón The Ceramics Museum of l'Alcora, officially Museu de Ceràmica de l'Alcora, brings together the municipality's centuries-old ceramic tradition, documented since 1546. It occupies a large old-town house on Tejedores street, built in 1907 and acquired by the Town Council in 1988 to house the museum. The first floor gathers vernacular ceramics produced since the Royal Factory of the Count of Aranda, inaugurated in 1727, with pieces of fine earthenware and porcelain of French Baroque influence and, later, Rococo, as well as the characteristic pipe-clay earthenware. The second floor displays contemporary ceramics gathered through the National Ceramics Competition, held by the Town Council since 1981.
