Church of San Francisco de L'Alcora Monument · L'Alcora, L'Alcalatén, Castellón Former conventual church of L'Alcora, founded by Franciscan friars in the 17th century at the same time as the neighbouring convent of the Alcantarine Franciscans was being built, of which nothing survives today. With a single-nave plan, two side altars and a raised choir at the west end, it retains plasterwork decoration dated 1648 and 1734 paintings in the Gospel and Epistle chapels, along with a decorated presbytery arch and an 18th-century holy water font. Closed to worship in 1977, it was restored and reopened in October 1995; it is listed as a bien de relevancia local (an asset of local heritage significance) and belongs to the diocese of Segorbe-Castellón. It forms part of the town's religious heritage complex. Photo: 19Tarrestnom65 (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in L'Alcora
