Chapel of Marco de L'Alcora Monument · L'Alcora, L'Alcalatén, Castellón The Capilla del Carmen in L'Alcora, also known as Capilla Marco, was built between 1740 and 1743 at the instigation of Vicente Marco Llorís de la Torreta, a canon of Valencia Cathedral, who had bought the land in 1739 after vowing to build a chapel to the Virgen de los Dolores following a horse-riding accident in his youth. It became known as "del Carmen" when it became the oratory of the Madre Rosa Ojeda old people's home, run by the Carmelite Sisters of St Joseph. Inside it retains an 18th-century tiled dado from the Count of Aranda's factory, and it is listed as a Bien de Relevancia Local (an asset of local heritage significance).
