Hermitage of Santa Bárbara de Torralba del Pinar Monument · Torralba del Pinar, El Alto Mijares, Castellón Image of Torralba del Pinar, not of the place itself. Hermitage built by residents over an old mosque of Arab origin, next to a spring and a wash house preserved on the outskirts of Torralba del Pinar. It stands at the edge of the village, on the way to Pavías, and is reached by a path that descends towards the public wash house and the cemetery; a small ceramic altarpiece bearing the image of the saint and the date 1969 marks the spot. The area is popularly known as “la Mezquitilla”, in reference to this tradition. It is a simple, single-nave building, with a porticoed atrium of round arches in front of the entrance, of masonry reinforced with ashlar and a two-pitched roof; on the wooden door three crosses are arranged as a calvary. It is listed as a Bien de Relevancia Local (a local-level heritage protection listing in the Comunitat Valenciana). Photo: Brugada3 (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Torralba del Pinar
