La Vall d'Ebo Village · Vall d'Ebo, la, La Marina Alta, Alicante La Vall d'Ebo is a municipality in la Marina Alta, in the northeast of Alicante, with 231 inhabitants (INE 2025) and 32.4 km² watered by the Ebo or Girona river. Its municipal area contains Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Bronze Age remains, and the Fosca cave, a Palaeolithic site with engravings, has made it possible to date the Levantine art paintings of the Abric de les Torrunades, a World Heritage Site. Of the morisco alquerías in the valley, Ebó was the only one to survive the expulsion of 1609; after the revolt of Al-Azraq, its lord, Bernardo de Sarriá, repopulated it with Majorcans. Its economy has been based on dryland farming: olive, cereal, almond and carob. Beside the church of San Miguel Arcángel, from 1576, it retains the Cova del Rull, with stalactites and stalagmites in Miocene limestone conglomerates, open to visitors.
