Hermitage of San Juan de la Mosquera

The hermitage of San Juan de la Mosquera, whose construction was ordered in the 16th century by Archbishop Juan de Ribera in the municipality of Alcalalí, guards throughout the year the image of San Juan Bautista de Mosquera. On 23 June the villagers carry the image on a litter to the entrance of the village and, after going along Ravalet street, take it to the church; the following day, at ten at night, it goes out in procession attended by residents of the municipality and of nearby towns.
