Castalla's Moors and Christians festival, with more than two centuries of history, is held at the end of August in honour of the Virgen de la Soledad, the village's patron saint, whose image is venerated in the Ermita de la Sangre. It brings together more than 2,000 festival participants divided into seven comparsas.
