Aqueduct of San Rafael Monument · Petrer, El Vinalopó Mitjà, Alicante The Aqueduct of San Rafael is a construction of the 14th-16th centuries in Valencian Gothic style, located in Petrer (Alicante), over the Rambla dels Molins, a tributary of the Vinalopó river, next to the district that takes its name from it. It supplied water to the neighbouring town of Elda. Of the six original arches, three survive, on four pillars with a truncated-conical ashlar base, with pointed masonry arches and U-shaped ceramic channelling. It was declared a historic-artistic monument of local interest in 1981 and is a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection), with the category of monument.
