The division of the two Hondones

Historical milestone · Hondón de los Frailes, El Vinalopó Mitjà, Alicante

The two Hondones shared a single town council from 1839, with the seat at Hondón de las Nieves. In 1926 the municipality was divided and Hondón de los Frailes came to have its own council, district and budget, with a settlement of conventual origin.
