The earthquake of March 21, 1829

The magnitude 6.6 earthquake that shook the Vega Baja at a quarter past six in the evening of 21 March 1829 destroyed 2,965 dwellings and caused 389 deaths. Almoradí concentrated almost half the victims because of the narrowness of its streets.
