El asesinato de Maravillas Lamberto Historical milestone · Larraga, Valdizarbe-Novenera, Navarra In the early hours of 15 August 1936, Civil Guards and Falangists arrested Vicente Lamberto, a UGT union member, in Larraga. His 14-year-old daughter Maravillas Lamberto Yoldi was repeatedly raped, including in her father's presence, and both were taken to a hillside near Ibiricu de Yerri, where the girl was murdered alongside him; residents found the remains a week later. The case, a symbol of Francoist repression in Navarre, has had a commemorative plaque in Larraga since 2012 and has been the subject of musical tributes and a biographical book by Xabier Susperregi (2024). In total, 46 people from Larraga were murdered during the Civil War. 15 de agosto de 1936 Photo: Wikimadari (CC0) What to see and do in Larraga
