Archaeological excavations carried out between 2010 and 2015 at the monastery of Zamartze, in Uharte Arakil, confirmed its identification with the ancient Roman way-station of Aracaeli and brought to light remains of a pilgrims' hostel from the 10th to 14th centuries.
