La Mejana de Tudela

Nature · Tudela, Ribera, Navarra

A river islet formed by Ebro silt next to the town center, originally covered by riverside woodland and now cleared for growing artichokes, asparagus, lettuce hearts and tomatoes. It is reached by a bridge over the Acequia del Molinar, presided over by a brick gateway with a niche dedicated to Santa Ana, the city's patron saint; it forms part of the protected area of the Sotos de Traslapuente.
