The patron saint festival of Vidángoz, in honor of San Agustín, opens at midnight on 28 August with the "bajada de la bruja Maruxa" ("descent of the witch Maruxa"): young people from the village dressed as historical witches come down with torches from the Pitxorronga rock amid bonfires, a tradition that recalls local legends of witchcraft and covens.
