Urzainqui/Urzainki Village · Urzainqui/Urzainki, Pirineo, Navarra Urzainqui/Urzainki, in the Roncal valley, grew from the late 14th century under the protection of the valley's Universidad (governing body). In 1412, King Carlos III granted it a general fuero (charter) and the privilege of collective hidalguía (petty nobility), exempting it from certain taxes; it was established as an independent municipality in 1846. It has 76 inhabitants (INE 2025) at 725 m altitude. The timber trade historically shaped its urban layout, divided into two neighborhoods on either bank of the river and joined by a bridge. 1412 Photo: Jialxv (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Urzainqui/Urzainki
