Ezcároz/Ezkaroze, at 742 m altitude in the Salazar valley, documented since the 11th century under forms such as Escaloz or Escaloçe, hosts the health center that serves the whole valley. It has 298 inhabitants (INE 2025). Gabriel Urralburu, president of the Government of Navarre between 1983 and 1991, was born here.
